The DGAW-Congress on “waste and resource management” has been initiated by the DGAW (German Society for Waste Management) to serve young scientists, business representatives and professors as a platform for annual exchange and discussions.
This year, participants of the 7th DGAW-Congress "Waste and Resource Management" met at RWTH Aachen University on the 16th and 17th of March 2017 to discuss a broad spectrum of topics in the field of waste management and recycling. In addition to specialist lectures and panel discussions, the award of the Science Prize for Waste Management and Resource Management is an integral part of the congress.
At this year's event, the jury awarded the science prize in the category of posters to Sebastian Kaufeld, PhD student at the Department of Processing and Recycling of RWTH Aachen University. In the course of his research, Mr. Kaufeld deals with the sieving of waste materials and presented his results on the subject of "conceptual design of a waste model mixtures for the investigation of influences of various property parameters on sieve classification" within the framework of the scientific congress.
