Resource and energy efficiency as well as the availability and a secure supply of raw materials are highly important with regard to the manufacture of products from primary or secondary resources. Therefore, innovation and problem-solving in this field require an appropriate interdisciplinary approach. Research in recycling starts at the source, in this case, with an anthropogenic resource called “waste”. Particularly scrap, notably non-ferrous metals, are of interest concerning economic and ecologic aspects.
